Mommy Moments: Sports

Its midnight and im so late for today\’s sharing… (whew!) But hey, what matters is that I did make it, hitting 2 consecutive fridays in a row!  =)
I\’m on night shift again at work and I can\’t missed this week\’s topic because its a perfect timing that  I woke up this afternoon and saw my B holding and proudly showing the ball that daddy bought for him. So I quickly grab my then low batt digicam and successfully capture pics for this post.

My B after his game =)

While dribbling, he repeatedly says \”look mommy, big boy na ko\”  for he was able to use a ball, same sized with what daddy  uses on  court games. Basketball is usually dominated by tall players. Husband stands 6feet tall and B at 3 is quite big for his age, so I really think that like his daddy (MVP player!) basketball would be the sport that he will definitely be into.
showing his moves!
Being into sports help our child to develop sportsmanship, nurture social skills, gain self- confidence and discipline, a good start to be competitive, and a lot more! I am trying to introduce now the basic concept of winning and losing because one time he engaged into playing car race and he loses; his playmate call him \”loser\”. In which he really got mad,  really, really  mad! That time I patiently explained to him that winning isn\’t an all time victory.  Losing point out our mistakes, teaches us to excel  and be more prepared for the next time. (argh! needs more explaining to do).

Mommy Moments: Super Hero

Countless  fridays had passed me by without having the chance to post any Mommy Moments entry. I am totally lost in connection with the group for this weekly sharing so I am looking forward on catching up again. =)
So without further blah, blah… Here\’s my entry for this week:

On my B\’s 1st Birthday, he wore a blue, red and yellow costume, complete with cape, with a stylized \”S\” shield on his chest. Yup! he is  Clark Kent possessing superhuman abilities!
Come halloween and he got the perfect chance to be the \”Darknight Detective\” as Bruce Wayne.
Lastly, he is the First Avenger! Steve Rogers  who volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America\’s ideals.
Sorry… no costume for the last one, just gadgets! This is a scheduled post to ensure my early entry for this week. Happy Friday everyone!!!

Mommy Moments: Congratulations!

mommy moments

Sorry for being absent for way too long here in Mommy Moments weekly meme. Anyway, im glad I was able to join this week… My child was not yet in school so there\’s no graduation or moving up to share but his accomplishment on toilet training!
Although he haven\’t fully perfected it yet, his score was remarkable and something that I was truly proud of. hehe During bedtime, he refuses to use diaper and let mommy help him to \”wee-wee\” after finishing his milk and directly goes to sleep.
One time we went for a swim and everytime he feels the need to pee, he manage to get out of the water and do it right! Good job! Congratulations to B for a job well done!

Mommy Moments: Blowing Bubbles!

mommy momentsLook, mommy made 2 BIG bubbles and gently passed on Brandon\’s both  hands!!! Every child enjoys playing with bubbles, my toddler did not only enjoy watching, chasing, and popping bubbles but also learn to distinguished sizes. He learned the difference between big and small, and I believe it promotes eye and hand coordination as well as having good observance on cause and effect of  his actions.

He is more careful placing and blowing bubbles all over his body coz he knows it\’s fragile and will easily pop!

Every bath time is bubble time for us, and he never gets tired having it!

Mommy Moments: Motherly Advice

It is true that we can only understand  every little aspect of being a mother only when the time that we have become one.  Way back then, I  never realize how agonizing the pain it brings to a mother when her child experiences his own down-fall, be it by just a small disappointment over things, or heartaches that life brings can struck a doubling pain for every mother.
My mom never speaks of her emotions, she \’s not the type who sits beside you to share her thoughts and inner feelings or discuss the pros and cons of our every action. Though we had a serious talks regarding things, but only when it\’s going on its  worst and mistakes have already been made. There\’s a part of me which says, she should\’ve told me its going to happen, or simply restricts me, or should\’ve shaken me hard enough to be back on my sanity that will surely save me from my own disgrace. Now I realize that its not my mother\’s fault, but my own. I should\’ve been more careful with  my decisions and good enough to do things that will surely make my parents more proud of me. I shouldn\’t waited to be told of what a daughter\’s responsibility or payback to my parents\’ goodness and hardships.
As an adult, I now realized – its not my mother\’s fault  whom I think wasn\’t telling me things that shoud\’ve been done, its just me who was simply not listening…
As a mother, I now realized that its my unconditional love for  my child that makes me who I am now, a transformed being,  a tough and enduring person who\’s ready to face life\’s challenges with a winning attitude.
An advice for children:  Listen to what your mom was saying, that\’s for your own good, and yes, she always know what\’s best. And here\’s a mother\’s law to ponder: \”Never forget who rocked you as a baby. That\’s something else you will never be able to repay her for.\”
And for all the mothers: Be your son/daughter\’s bestfriend/confidant, be the first to know their success, encourage them to be at their best and always be there to catch and inspire them.

HAPPY MOTHER\’s DAY Mommies!!!

Mommy Moments: Blue

Matching this week\’s theme was our inflatable swimming pool we used last week during our visit to my parents @ San Jose Batangas. My Brandon enjoyed relaxing laying down on water with the help of his Thomas inflatable ride-on.

The pool was big enough to have it enjoyed by my \’father dear\’ as well as my child enjoyed giving him a shower and watching his lolo do his dance moves:

His cousin is a year older than him and his best play buddy:
\’Twas a nice weekend for all of us, catching up with our busy lives…  I enjoyed chit chatting with my sisters with our usual food and laughing trip while watching the kids.

mommy moments

This is my second time to join Mommy Moments\’ weekly meme, I immediately browse Brandon\’s picture files in search for this week\’s theme: Yellow.
I remember, I took a pic of him show-casing his new Thomas and Friends yellow bracelet. As I opened my March pic folder, I was surprised to see this one, with him having not only the yellow baller but also with his yellow feeding bottle matching this week\’s fun theme. Ye\’y!
