Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol welcomes Richard Gutierrez, Sarah Lahbati, and kids as brand ambassadors

Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol continues its campaign to be Filipino families’ ally in germ protection in the new normal as they welcome newlyweds, Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati, together with their adorable kids Zion and Kai, as their brand ambassadors.

Adjusting to the New Normal with Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol

Richard and Sarah, who got married in a solemn ceremony earlier this year, celebrated their new life together in quarantine. While being stuck at home was an opportunity for them to spend more time together as a family—planting, painting and playing all sorts of games, they also needed to go through a lot of adjustments as a family.

One adjustment that they had to do was to look for better ways to protect their family against germs, with the threat of the virus still continuing up until now. They found their newest ally in Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol, which promises a higher level of protection against germs and viruses.

“We believe in innovative products. Not only does Defensil come from a company we trust, Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol is also recommended by experts,” said Sarah.

“And since we use alcohol more frequently to sanitize, I also like how it not only kills germs and bacteria, but also has moisturizer to not dry our skin,” she added.

One way to prevent the spread of germs is regular disinfection of hands and high touch surfaces using a rubbing alcohol. To provide a higher level of defense against germs in the new normal, the Philippine Society for Microbiology is recommending Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol.

Created by Beauty Elements Ventures Inc, Defensil 70% Solution Isopropyl Alcohol kills 99.9% of germs to give Richard and Sarah’s family the peace of mind that they are well-defended. It starts to kill germs on contact and upon constant use, provides up to 12-hour protection.

New Normal Holidays

Celebrating the holidays is surely going to be different for the Gutierrez family this year. For Richard and Sarah, social distancing is something that they’re keeping in mind as they celebrate the holiday season, along with making sure that everyone sanitizes and disinfects using Defensil.

The family wishes to go on a local holiday trip with family bringing their new ally, Defensil. With this, Sarah shares three simple tips to fellow parents on how to keep their family safe from germs during the holiday season.

First, social distancing is a must. Second, always wear a mask. It is important for parents to teach their kids the importance of wearing masks, which help to prevent the transmission of the virus. And, lastly, always disinfect with an alcohol that makes sure you and the family are well-defended— like Defensil Isopropyl Alcohol.

Get Your Kids Active And Inspired With MILO Sports Interactive Online Classes

Learning in school goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. After a day of lessons, kids also benefit from the interactions they get when playing sports and other extra-curricular activities with friends. Now that it’s a little more changing given that remote learning and physical distancing have taken a precedent, MILO Home Court is bringing on-ground sports online and in-home, so that they can still partake in different activities.

Committed to building champions in sports and in life, MILO Home Court recently launched the MILO Sports Interactive Online Classes (MSIOC), where kids are given the opportunity to interact and get more personal direction from professional coaches and esteemed athletes from MILO’s long-standing partner sports organizations. Through MSIOC, parents can enroll their kids in real-time sessions as they’re done via video conferencing tools like Zoom or Google Meet. This setup also gives them the chance to interact and gain new friends from the session because it’s done in groups.

Parents and their kids can choose from a variety of sports such as football with Grit Sports PH and Aspire Football Academy, badminton with the Asuncion Badminton Center, chess with the Metropolitan Chess Center, multi-sport with Game On Sports PH where kids can learn up to five (5) different sports at the same time,  basketball with the MILO-sponsored BEST Center, jiu jitsu with SEAG medalists Carlo Pena and Meggie Ochoa, fencing with Vicious Brainiac Fencing, and tennis with SEAG medalist Kevin Mamawal under the Children’s Tennis and Sports Management Inc. Rates vary per sport and enrolling in the classes are specific to children’s ages between 4 to 12 and their level of competency to ensure that they’ll get to properly follow and keep up. To get in touch with the organizers and find out more details, check this link here: https://www.milo.com.ph/milo-sports-interactive-online-classes#schedules

More than inspiring children to get into sports because of its physical benefits, MILO advocates for their emotional and mental well-being as well; taking in consideration the challenging situations that many are facing today. MSIOC helps in such a way that it nurtures their discipline, confidence, teamwork, as well as their conversation and social interaction skills. MSIOC also gives kids a sense of acceptance and belongingness from doing activities and spending time with other kids who enjoy their interests.

“We loved how Coach Eva was very warm and welcoming to us,” says Mommy Blogger Kaye Figuracion, as she let her daughter Keisha participate in the gymnastics class. “We felt comfortable to join the others even if we were newbies. Everyone was also patient with Keisha especially when she was struggling to follow the moves. The tips and instructions they gave helped her a lot. We also had fun meeting other moms and kids online!”

For Mommy Blogger Lanie, her daughter Mariel always wanted to play football with friends. “Mariel had always wanted to learn football. They have it as sports in their school and a large ground where some of her friends play after school hours. But she has always been shy to join because she is afraid that she won\’t be able to catch up with other players. Good thing she was able to participate in the football sessions from the MILO Sports Interactive Online Classes. She’s now able to join them once they all see each other in school.”

“We understand the importance of holistic health among children as we continue to develop and innovate our sports programs with our longtime partner organizations,” says MILO Sports Executive Luigi Pumaren. “MSIOC hopes to address parents and kids’ needs to be part of a supportive community that encourages them to reach for their dreams through sports, all while maintaining to be active and productive at home as it’s never been more important these days.”

With the MILO Sports Interactive Online Classes, together with the new MILO Champion Formula that contains more milk, mas siksik pa sa Champion Energy Nutrients na PROTOMALTÒ, Iron, at Vitamins B2, B3, B6, and B12, at mas sulit dahil mas pinarami na ang isang sachet at the same suggested retail price, parents will be able to equip their kids with the right energy to remain active, healthy, and productive at home.

Break the Habit and #PledgeToDoubleCheck products for your Family’s sake

Our family, most importantly, our kids are the special treasures we have and with that, we only want what is best for them especially in terms of the food and drinks they consume. However, with the goal of making them happy with their favorite refreshments, desserts and snacks, are you sure that they are nutritious for your little ones?

Beware mommies, do not put your guard down and don’t be complacent because it’s not enough that we buy products having popular names. There might be red flags that you don’t see in the usual products that you buy. Just because we see our kids are enjoying their usual snacks and drinks doesn’t mean that our job is done, because as important it is to give them what they want, it’s even more important to give them what they need. As wise moms, we should check what ingredients are in the snacks and drinks that we serve to our kids. Is there too much sugar? Too many artificial ingredients? Remember, giving what’s best to our children is not only about providing tasty snacks and beverages –but rather, about providing them with snacks and drinks that will nourish them and keep them healthy.

Guilty? It’s never too late to break the habit of buying whatever is pleasing to the eyes and what is popular because All Natural Seasons Juice by Dole have started the mommy movement #PledgeToDoubleCheck that advocates for smarter and wiser grocery shopping.

This movement is a call to be more conscious about your grocery shopping habits and to inform and properly educate yourself about the ingredients of the products you are buying. The lesser ingredients they contain, the more natural they probably are, hence, a healthier and safer product for the family.

We may think that the current products that we are purchasing are already “healthy” but upon checking their ingredients lists, you might be shocked to find that they contain chemically-sounding, artificial additives and preservatives to add a more flavorful taste. Fair warning for all mommies that when there are too many ingredients (more than 10) and are a bit complicated or hard to understand, it could be a sign that the product contains a lot of artificial ingredients that are not advisable to be consumed in large amounts regularly so you might want to reconsider buying it.

Through pledging to check the label, you are committing towards being more aware on which brands to put your trust in and assessing which are true to their claim of being a healthy product. You will be shocked to discover that the products you have patronized and have made staple food items at home contain ingredients that may result to health complications.

Well-known celebrity mommies like Jolina Magdangal, Neri Miranda and Pokwang, together with some sought-after mommy bloggers such as Pehpot Pineda, and Peachy Adarne have spearheaded this movement of breaking the bad habit of not checking the label and starting to read and scrutinize the contents of the food and drinks that they buy.

It’s about time that you join us, not only by signing the pledge but taking this to greater heights by sharing this message to invite other mommies out there to take the pledge to double check the ingredients to really know what’s in your juice.

Other mommies nationwide who have started taking in on the pledge admitted how double checking the back label has made significant changes on them as a mom and how they were able to protect their children from health risks.“[As] a meticulous [and] curious mom, checking the back label helped me to verify the nutritional claims, compare brands, and choose which one offers the best buy for my family,” said Mommy Erlyne Penaroyo from Makati City.

“Double checking the back label of [the] products I shop from the groceries made me a more cautious and practical mom I am. It ensures my family’s safety most especially these times of pandemic. Dole’s All Natural Seasons #PledgeToDoubleCheck made me realize to double check all the things before purchasing and consuming,” according to Mommy Dyanna Cañas from Biñan City.

These mommies have proven that familiarizing yourself with the ingredients and nutrition content of the products you consume is an important factor that should be normalized and graciously followed.

“I always double check the back label of each items I [buy] especially for my kids because I always want to make it sure na healthy ang lagi kong binibili at binibigay sa kanila at may natural ingredients na makakatulong sa health nila. I am very conscious mom lalo na sa mga binibigay ko sa aking family, kaya super important sakin na i-double check lagi ang back label,” Mommy Kimberly Fajilan from Batangas City added.

“It’s good to be aware if a certain food is high in sugar, carbs or in sodium. [and] also for the calorie content and ingredients, sometimes ‘pag puro preservatives malalaman mo agad kasi hindi familiar ang ingredients,” said Mommy Gec Cajucom from Parañaque City.

Join this movement now and be part of the change! Post a photo of yourself holding and reading the back label of any food or beverage product and tell us what you discovered when you double-checked. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #PledgeToDoubleCheck and tag @allnaturalseasons so you can influence other mommies, and little by little, we can all take the next steps towards creating a healthier lifestyle for us and our children.

Love Plus Foundation Gives Back by Helping Filipinos In Need During the Pandemic

Our lives have been disrupted and impacted by the pandemic in unprecedented ways. The corona virus has affected our day to day lives and is slowing down the economy for almost six months – and people still cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. During these hard times, an organization who works under the radar are helping Filipinos to cope up on the effects of the pandemic.

Love Plus Charity Foundation, an organization founded by Chinese national, Hu Sun, started to provide aid in their own little ways by means of food delivery for front liners on different checkpoints, across several cities back in March when the government imposed city lockdowns in the country. The organization wanted to reach remote areas that were not focused on by mainstream media – which draw attention from several individuals and organizations, that lead to the growth of donation to the foundation.

“We are not brothers by blood, but we think of Filipinos as a part of our family because they welcomed us with open arms. I think it’s time for us to return the favor and provide assistance in any way we can because that’s what a family does. They help each other get through the rough times.”, said Hu Sun.

When the Chinese Medical Team first arrived in the country to provide their expertise in combatting the deadly virus, Love Plus Charity Foundation spearheaded the translation between them and local health care officials to make sure no message is lost during translation. With over 50 individuals going hand in hand to donate food, medical equipment, and other necessary items to combat the corona virus, Love Plus Charity Foundation doubled their efforts especially on the months of April and May when they visited major hospitals in NCR, including Lung Center of the Philippines, RITM, Jose Abad Santos General Hospital, Bulacan Medical Center and so much more. Love Plus Charity Foundation was also one of the first organizations to provide aid in terms of basic necessities such as food and water when the Pandacan Church caught fire back in July.

As of August 1, 2020, a combination of 487 Chinese organizations and individuals have donated to Love Plus Charity Foundation, garnering a total of Php 6,000,000 in cash, 3,144 boxes of surgical masks, 1,340 sets of PPE, 2,000 sets of rapid test kits, baby essentials like formula milk and diaper, in addition to food donations such as rice, bread, instant noodles, canned goods, fruits and vegetables, enough to feed an entire community.

When the government implemented another lockdown on August 4, Love Plus Charity Foundation did not waste any time to lend another helping hand to Filipinos, despite of challenges such as distance and heavy rains.

“We believe that in times like these, there is no nationality, but only unity. The Philippines has been our home and we felt like it was our responsibility to help anyone in need – no matter the distance and race, as we need to rise up in the middle of this pandemic.”, said Hu Sun.

Love Plus Charity Foundation will continue its mission to provide aid for Filipinos across the country. The organization hopes that despite the effects of the pandemic, humanity will still find the strength to recover. Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach interviews “candidates” seeking to join online ESL platform 51Talk

Manila, Philippines – 51Talk, together with their new Philippine brand ambassador, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, held its first-ever live stream interview via Facebook after hundreds of aspiring online English teachers signed-up to get a chance to be part of the show. The live stream is part of 51Talk’s campaign to invite qualified Filipinos who are interested to take advantage of the 30,000 home-based online teaching opportunities offered by 51Talk where people can teach, learn and most importantly – earn.
Listed in the New York Stock Exchange, 51Talk is the leading online English education platform that connects thousands of Filipino teachers to foreign English language learners via an interactive virtual classroom.
More than 70,000 viewers tuned in and joined the fun and inspiring live stream which allowed them to learn more about the teach at home opportunity and acquainted them with the application process that can be completed in as fast as three days. Pia interviewed nine pre-selected candidates from different backgrounds who shared their heartwarming stories on how they found hope in 51Talk after losing their jobs or livelihood.

Pia Wurtzbach interviews candidates who wish to be part of online English platform 51Talk. The live stream, with hints of a reality and talent show, aims to attract 30,000 new online English teachers to join the platform.

Several of the candidates expressed how the pandemic has affected their current livelihood, especially those who belong to the travel and events industries.

Paula, a professional dancer and instructor who has been performing and teaching for 14 years, had a lot of her events and classes cancelled due to COVID-19. She came across the 51Talk online teaching opportunity and decided to give it a shot since she has teaching experience.
“I want to be able to translate my teaching skills from dance and performance arts into teaching English. I just love sharing what I know and see my students grow into the best versions of themselves,” shared Paula.
Trina, a professional events host, found herself in the same boat as a lot of her hosting gigs were cancelled or postponed indefinitely.
“While the situation we are in can be very disheartening, I decided to try out as a 51Talk teacher and I’m happy that I made it to this fun interview with no less than Miss Universe  Pia Wurtzbach!” exclaimed Trina. Trina gave the viewers a taste of her fun, entertaining energy as she sang songs both in English and Chinese
Pearl, another one of the candidates, candidly shared how the past few months have been very tough for those in the travel industry. She was about to return as a flight attendant after her maternity leave but her retraining was put on hold as travel restrictions are still in place. Having no income, Pearl said she had to find a stable and sustainable livelihood that would allow her to help her husband, especially now that they have their first child.
“When I learned about the opportunity in 51Talk, it gave me hope and made me revisit my childhood dream of becoming an educator,” shared Pearl. “Even if I don’t have any teaching experience, I didn’t hesitate to sign-up. I borrowed my sister’s laptop just so I could apply. I’m very excited to start teaching in 51Talk.”
According to 51Talk teacher Angelo Lex who co-hosted the show, being an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher is very profitable as he gets to earn at the comfort and safety of his own home in his preferred schedule. He also shared his excitement when he learned of the platform’s recent announcement about the 20 million pesos incentive program exclusively for 51Talk teachers this month.
Pia felt ecstatic and inspired since this is her first stint in interviewing candidates online. “It’s a humbling experience to interview such incredible candidates from all walks of life, to hear their unique stories and to witness how talented and passionate they all are,” shared Pia.
Towards the end of the show, Pia said she was moved after hearing the story of one of the candidates, Pearl, the flight attendant who borrowed her sister’s laptop just so she could sign-up to be a teacher at 51Talk. Pia surprised everyone as she decided to personally give Pearl a laptop to help her get started in her online teaching career.
Aspiring online English teacher Pearl became emotional when Pia Wurtzbach surprisingly announced she would give Pearl a laptop so she can start earning from home to support her family. Pearl was a flight attendant who lost her job but found hope in 51Talk.

“We see your hard work and we’re very sorry for what you’re going through as a young mom. I find you very engaging and who has so much potential,” said Pia.

“It’s such an honor to represent 51Talk as their brand ambassador and to be able to connect to thousands of Filipinos through this live stream. I hope it inspired them and gave them joy.”
Pia considers empowering Filipinos as her top advocacy, now more than ever when thousands of Filipinos have lost their livelihood due to the pandemic.
“I am encouraging all qualified individuals to sign-up and to seize this wonderful livelihood opportunity. See you in our next live stream!” exclaimed Pia.
Next month, 51Talk will be doing another round of interviews with a new set of candidates via their official Facebook page. To get a chance to be interviewed, showcase your talent, and have a #DateWithPiaAt51Talk, sign-up via 51Talk’s website atwww.51Talk.ph.

Healthy Diet safeguards against COVID-19

The COVID-19 Pandemic intensifies the Philippine\’s battle against Double Burden of Malnutrition. Double Burden of Malnutrition is defined by World Health Organization (WHO) as “the coexistence of undernutrition along with overweight and obesity, or diet-related non communicable diseases, within individuals, households and populations, and across the life course.”

The limited distribution and access to food supplies aggravate the plight of poor and low income Filipino households to sustain each person’s required nutrients through healthy meals. On the other hand, home confinement due to the mandated community quarantine may cause more people to not only restrict their physical activities but also to overeat and/or consume more food with empty calories as part of coping with stress and/or boredom.

Given the importance of maintaining healthy diets to sustain our health and immunity against viruses and bacteria, we should turn to the practice of Pinggang Pinoy® as a viable safeguard to protect our family from diseases.

Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC) introduced “Mag-Pinggang Pinoy® Tayo 7-day Menu Challenge” as a way to encourage homemakers to serve variety of balanced meals to their families. Homemakers could access the Mag-Pinggang Pinoy® Tayo 7-day menu plan at www.ajinomoto.com.ph and facebook.com/CookmunitybyAjinomotoPH. This is part of the company’s “Eat Well, Live Well. Stay Well.” campaign to provide Filipino families with practical tips on proper nutrition, recipe menu and fitness activities to cope, stay well and enjoy life despite current COVID-19 situation.

Ajinomoto;s 7-day menu plan is composed of complete meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each meal provides recipe suggestions for Healthy & Delicious Pinggang Pinoy® Recipes that are easy-to-do and affordable. These recipes are simple, solutions to serve enjoyable Pinggang Pinoy® meals.  Homemakers could make use of their extra time to purchase widely available and inexpensive vegetables and fruits to complement rice beyond the usual supply of canned goods. Ajinomoto’s recipes make common ingredients more palatable like tofu sisig, meaty pechay picadillo, pork tapa and tomatoes, ensaladang talbos ng kamote, sweet and sour galunggong and many more. Here are three (3) recipe samplers done in three (3) easy steps:

Meaty Pechay Picadillo:

1) SAUTÉ onion, garlic and ground pork and mix in carrots, green peas and pechay.
2) SEASONwith pepper, soy sauce and AJI-GINISA® Flavor Seasoning Mix

PGH calls for blood donations from COVID-19 survivors

Since April 15, the number of people who have recovered from the coronavirus disease has surpassed the nationwide death toll. Today, there are a total of 693 recoveries and 446 deaths. Of those 446, 9 died just yesterday. So while the situation is improving, there is still much to do.
“Filipinos continue to suffer and some eventually die from Covid 19 everyday. There is no proven treatment yet for this although different medications and regimens are being investigated. And the vaccine against the novel coronavirus is not yet available. That is why we are calling for plasma donations from Covid 19 survivors. Their antibodies  may help save patients who are still battling the disease, especially the severe and critical cases,” said Dr. Jonas Del Rosario, spokesperson for the Philippine General Hospital.
Known as convalescent plasma therapy, the treatment is a century-old technique that has been tried and tested on numerous illnesses, most recently for diseases such as Ebola, Sars, Mers, and Swine Flu. It involves the transfusion of plasma, the liquid component of blood, from a recovered patient to a sick patient.
Much like other organizations around the world, the PGH sees plasma therapy as a possible stop-gap to hold the virus at bay while more complex treatments are developed. “A vaccine is a year out, but what if we can use the antibodies of those who have already survived to strengthen the immune system of those still battling the virus,” said Dr. Del Rosario.
Since beginning the experimental treatment very recently, the PGH has received over 90 inquiries with more than 21 passing the criteria and at least 19 having already donated plasma. At least 5 COVID-19 patients were able to receive transfusions.

You are eligible to donate if you:
Are a confirmed COVID-19 survivor
Have at least 1 Negative pcR test
Are at least 2 weeks asymptomatic and fully recovered
Weigh 50kg or more
Give informed consent

“Right now, we are taking care of over 100 COVID-19 patients in the PGH, and some of those are severe and critical cases who have exhausted all other treatment options with no success. For them, plasma therapy could be the last resort. That’s why we’re looking for more donors,” said Dr. Del Rosario.
The plasma donation process for COVID-19 survivors is fairly straightforward. When a prospective donor calls the PGH hotline, he or she is first evaluated over the phone. Once found eligible to donate, PGH personnel will conduct a home visit to get informed consent and a blood sample. After that, the donor is invited to the College of Medicine in UP Manila to donate.
For all COVID-19 survivors who want to donate, you may call the PGH hotline at 155-200.
