Store Finder PH launches Facebook chatbot for free mobile internet users

When Store Finder PH’s map website went live on March 19 to help locate nearby establishments that are open during the COVID-19 community quarantine, families with no internet connection seem left behind.
However with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, the volunteer-initiated website is able to make its key content available on Facebook Messenger through a chatbot. A chatbot is a computer robot that replies to messages like a human being.
Currently, Facebook Messenger can be used even without a mobile data plan as part of the basic service of Smart, Globe, and affiliate providers, making the store finding-chatbot accessible to more than 44 million phone internet users in the Philippines at no extra cost.
Store Finder PH named its chatbot “Crowdy”to signify the project’s crowd-sourcing nature of collecting information. To use the chatbot, the user should open the project’s Facebook messenger.

After tapping “Get Started”, the user may pick the establishment category and type a location that the chatbot will scan through. A list of  search results including grocery shops, restaurants, pharmacies, banks, ATM centers, remittance centers, logistic hubs, and other essential stores  is then displayed within seconds.
Although the map feature is disabled when on free mobile data, crucial information including business hours are still delivered in text format.
“Our main contribution as millenials to the Enhanced Community Quarantine measure of the government is making tech solutions and life-saving information reach the doorsteps of every Filipino,” said Trinmar Boado, an award-winning Information and Communication Technology (ICT) advocate and leader of the volunteer project.
He added the chatbot is getting a high volume of query for remittance centers, explaining this must be from parents of stranded students and other individuals sending out financial help.
On Store Finder PH’s  website version at www.storefinder.ph, users can see the map of their neighborhood and the exact location of open establishments. They can also chat with other active users within the vicinity to seek any assistance during emergencies.
To start using the Store Finder PH chatbot, open m.me/StoreFinder.PH or fb.com/StoreFinder.PHnow.

NEW Pampers Sensitive Wipes make cleaning poo a breeze for parents

NEW Pampers Sensitive Wipes is ultra-soft and strong and does not tear easily – for a gentle but effective clean that helps protect baby’s delicate skin from skin rash

Manila, Philippines – Whether you’re a newbie or an experienced parent, it’s a known fact that with every precious baby also comes a lot of mess to clean! Everything from feeding your baby, playing, and especially diaper changing, comes with its fair share of mess, but it doesn’t mean cleaning up can’t be easy.
To make cleaning a breeze for you and your baby, Pampers, the No.1 diaper brand in the world, is here to help you with the launch of the NEW Pampers Sensitive Wipes that offers gentle but effective clean for your baby.

Pampers Sensitive Wipes comes with soft and thick fluffy sheets that enable gentle, effective cleansing without easily tearing. Every sheet is guaranteed to be PH-balanced, paraben-free, phenoxyethanol-free, and alcohol-free with Pampers’ unique formula that helps protect your baby’s skin from diaper rash. It is dermatologically tested to be suitable for sensitive skin making it safe for your baby’s bum.

“Pampers continuously aims to deliver the best products for baby\’s healthy development such as providing quality diapers suitable for baby\’s delicate skin,” said Akhil Meshram, Pampers Country Leader. “This is why we are launching Pampers Sensitive Wipes, to offer gentle and effective cleaning for baby especially when diaper changing.”

Using baby wipes to add to your diaper-changing routine leaves the baby feeling fresh after every wipe. Use wipes to clean the baby’s diaper region, wiping from front to back without missing out the sides and the outside areas, and then wait for the skin to dry before putting on a fresh diaper.
With every diaper change, using a trusted sensitive baby wipe like Pampers helps in minimizing the risk of diaper rash. Because not all wipes are created equal, some easily tear apart. A good tip for parents is to choose wipes that are gentle and strong enough to properly wipe baby’s poo without tearing, so you use less wipes as you clean more.

Pampers Sensitive Wipes offers parents that advantage to clean up poo and wipe’s baby’s bum with its safe ingredients and effective cleaning feature, which are also gentle to use on the hands and body too.

“From my eldest hanggang sa bunso, laki sa Pampers ang mga yan. I’ve always believed that Pampers is the best diaper brand for my kids because they understand parents’ sentiments on what babies’ need, like how to avoid baby diaper rash and importance of diaper change. Trying the new Pampers Sensitive Wipes, super satisfied ako kasi ang gentle sa skin ni Marius and super effective! It was love at first wipe,” candidly shared by experienced mom Pehpot Pineda who is a well-known mommy blogger and a Pampers Ambassador.
“It definitely made cleaning baby poo’s mess easier and faster for me. Thanks to Pampers kasi I don’t have to use more wipes than I should, so I’m sure I’m getting a quality product, no harsh chemicals pa! I definitely recommend this to mommies, especially rookie moms!,” Mommy Pehpot urges new moms to use the new Pampers Sensitive Wipes too.

Whether you’re at home or outdoors, add the new Pampers Sensitive Wipes to your diaper-changing routine so you have peace of mind that you only give total protection to your baby’s delicate skin.

The AvelXAlden collection brings to Zilingo’s customers an affordable line of clothing that combines comfort and functionality, suitable for different occasions.

Nadine Lustre is new GCash endorser

The country’s favorite young artist and model Nadine Lustre is the new face of the Philippines’ leading mobile wallet, GCash.
The multi-awarded actress headlines GCash’s “What Can’t You Do?” campaign to power the dreams of young adults who constantly want to do more, to expand possibilities, and to achieve beyond their own expectations.

L-R: Franz Weber, Head for Branding and Strategic Planning, Nadine Lustreand GCash Chief Marketing Officer Chris Manguera
“Nadine is the perfect fit for GCash because she represents the true aspirations of young adults and is at that point in her life where taking charge of your finances is becoming more important. She shows how young adults can be independent and take charge of their own lives, and with the help of GCash, “What Can’t You Do?” means so much more,” Chris Manguera, Chief Marketing Officer at Mynt, which runs GCash, said.
After starting out as a singer in a pop band, Lustre evolved to become a much-sought-after actress on TV, with her primetime hits \”On The Wings of Love\” (2015) and \”Till I Met You\” (2016).

The 25-year-old actress has fared as well on the big screen, winning the Best Actress awards from Young Critics Circle, FAMAS Awards and the Gawad Urian Awards in 2019 for  hit movie, “Never Not Love You.” Her latest film, “Indak,” a dance musical movie, shows Lustre’s flexibility as an actress.

Early this year, one of world’s biggest fast fashion brands, H&M, launched Lustre as its first Filipino ambassador. The actress, named by a top magazine as Sexiest Woman in 2017, has her own line of swimwear with H&M.
“She has built her brand and can create the image of a lifestyle that everyone will want to follow. We hope for that to happen with GCash as well,” Manguera said. “We also want to activate her big fan base to help spread the word of financial inclusion and empowerment.”
Lustre, who was voted Artist of the Year and Favorite Female Artist at the Myx Music Awards 2019, is a social media savant who has 6.8 million followers on Instagram.
GCash’s “What Can’t You Do?” campaign pushes the limits of what mobile phones can do for young adults with its innovative financial services accessible through mobile. With over 50,000 partner merchants and 20 million users, GCash remains the country’s leading mobile wallet.
Like Lustre, who has won over the entire country  and has kept everyone’s attention throughout the years by relentlessly adapting to change, GCash continues to evolve not just as digital platform but as a lifestyle brand.

Do you fall into #MalnutritionTraps?

The country has been facing the rise on the number of underweight and overweight Filipinos for more than 20 years. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined this phenomenon as the “Double Burden of Malnutrition” or the “prevalence of both undernutrition and overweight in the same community, nation, or region.”

To address this problem, our government launched the Pinggang Pinoy® campaign in 2014. Pinggang Pinoy® is an easy-to-understand food guide showing proper food group portioning on a per-meal basis. This reflects the principles of MOderation, VAriety and BAlance (MOVABA) to promote healthier eating habits.

Solving the Philippines’ Double Burden of Malnutrition should be a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors as it is not an easy feat. With this, Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation partnered with government agencies to conduct education programs to raise awareness and promote the practice of Pinggang Pinoy® in malnutrition hotspots, where incidences of Double Burden Malnutrition are high. This training was given to homemakers/mothers who have malnourished (underweight, stunting, wasting, overweight and obese) school-aged children.

The pilot run resulted to improvements of the knowledge & attitudes of households related to the practice of Pinggang Pinoy® within target areas. However, behavior changes towards healthier eating habits remains to be a challenge. The program uncovered a number #MalnutritionTraps that some Pinoy households easily fall into. The following #MalnutritionTraps provide a picture of how unhealthy eating habits may lead to Double Burden of Malnutrition:

1. Overconsumption of carbohydrates: Voracious rice eaters can easily fill half of their plates with rice. Others have pandesal & noodles as regular meal deprived of other nutrients derived from a well-balanced meal.

2. Under consumption of vegetables and/fruits: It is common for some to be content with rice & meat to satisfy their hunger and skip/take insufficient amount of vegetables/fruits. Fact is, the variety of colors found in Glow foods are important sources of vitamins & minerals to sustain our energy & keep us from getting sick.

3. Overconsumption of protein: Typical Filipino “SILOG” meals include double serving of proteins (e.g. Tapa+Itlog, Tocino+Itlog, Longanisa+Itlog, Bangus+Itlog). Eating different kinds of protein is fine for as long as they are taken in moderation. We must also avoid protein dishes served high in fat, cholesterol and sodium.

To help Filipinos break free from #MalnutritionTraps, Ajinomoto’s Culinary Nutrition Team prepared Healthy & Delicious Pinggang Pinoy® Recipes, downloadable through https://bit.ly/2HIsfkj. Busy and budget-restricted homemakers will also find these Pinggang Pinoy® recipes useful because all are easy-to-do and affordable (P250/day for family of 5).

Mondelez Philippines’ Turning Plastic into Play!

Mondelez Philippines’ Joy Schools will be collecting plastic waste with partners First Balfour and the Philippine Business for Social Progress and turn them into play areas for the Company’s three adopted public elementary schools. Leading the launch were (L-R) Anchel Cruz, HR Senior Supervisor of First Balfour; Ashish Pisharodi, Country Director of Mondelez Philippines; Assistant Principal Dr. Flora Baggayan of Camp Claudio Elementary School; and Boi Mojica, Assistant Department Head of the City Environment and Natural Resources in Paranaque City, where two of the schools are located.
Manila, Philippines – February 2019. Mondelez Philippines has launched a program to help turn plastic packaging waste into play areas for its adopted Joy Schools. This project is in support of the Company’s global 2025 commitment to make all packaging recyclable, provide recycling information, and support public-private partnerships to help reduce waste and improve recycling.

Plastic waste and its impact on the planet is a broad, systemic issue that a lot of people care deeply about, and which requires a holistic response. As a company which aims to empower people to snack right, Mondelez Philippines wants to help minimize plastic waste as part of a global long-term vision for zero-net waste packaging.

The company believes that one of the approaches to help address the issue of plastic waste is to make it easier for consumers to recycle packaging and supporting industry coalitions to improve recycling rates.

Locally, one of the company’s programs to help address this issue is the Joy Schools Plastic Play Areas project. The Joy Schools is Mondelez Philippines’ signature community program across South East Asia which aims to empower children to take positive steps towards their overall well-being. The Joy Schools currently provides a daily 9-month feeding for 300 undernourished students in the Country to help improve their nutrition and increase energy for school.
In the same way that the Joy Schools provides nutrition programs for children’s well-being, the program has now expanded to recycling to help empower students to care for the planet’s well-being in turn. Working with partners the Philippine Business for Social Progress and First Balfour, Mondelez Philippines will engage the Joy Schools in collecting ecobricks – or plastic 1.5 or 1.75-liter bottles which are stuffed with plastic packaging waste. The partners’ own employees are also engaged to collect ecobricks for this project. The target is to collect 400 ecobricks which are equivalent to some 400 kilos of plastic waste.
Once collected, these ecobricks will be turned into play areas for three Joy Schools in Metro Manila, located in Parañaque and Quezon City. The play areas will be constructed by First Balfour, leveraging on their expertise as a construction company which aims to help build and uplift the quality of life of Filipinos. In this way the students of the Joy Schools can learn about the importance of environmental protection, recycling, and have more opportunities to be active while enjoying their new play areas.
“We are excited about the launch of the Joy Schools Plastic Play Areas project,” shares Mondelez Philippines Country Director Ashish Pisharodi. “Over the past years we have done similar projects to help promote the importance of recycling, including sharing of recycled plastic chairs with schools through our brand, Tang. With this new initiative, we will be able to support two things we value as a Company: The well-being of our community and care for the planet. It is critical that our actions today involve children, who will inherit the future. We must all work together to ensure the well-being of the planet which we will leave behind to them.”
First Balfour HR Head Carlos Pedro Salonga explains that anyone can recycle and create their own ecobricks. It only takes three steps: Dry, Cut and Stuff. First, collect dry and empty plastic packaging. Then cut them up into small pieces. Lastly, stuff them tightly inside the similarly clean and empty plastic bottles. Make sure they do not bend and weigh about 1 kilo each. These can then be used as building blocks for many projects. “To date we have built wash areas, benches and buildings using ecobricks,” Salonga adds. “We are similarly excited to see our first recycled play areas come to life with Mondelez Philippines.”
The Joy Schools program was created by Mondelez Philippines in 2011. It has since adopted 16 public elementary schools nationwide and has been implemented by the Company in its locations in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. In the Philippines, it has three currently adopted local schools namely Camp Claudio Elementary School and Rogelio Gatchalian Elementary School in Parañaque and Holy Spirit Elementary School in Quezon City.

This play area will be constructed in the adopted Joy Schools of Mondelez Philippines. Designed by partner First Balfour, the structure will be utilizing ecobricks or recycled plastic bottles stuffed with plastic waste.
