Banahaw Heals Spa Muntinlupa Branch

I realized i\’ve written just 1 blog post for this month, so here\’s another to make it 2 (hehe). I find it hard to stay focus nowadays thinking of home, family, and real estate concerns. Not really feeling good and found nothing exciting to blog about =(

I have had my share of heavy loads that kept sinking on me for these past few weeks. So here\’s my story: One day (which happens to be my day off from work). I aggresively decided to have that 1-hour full body massage that i\’d been planning to experience for a very long time. (Yep, my first time ever!). Which I think I deserve to have regularly. Not to mention that I badly needed that massage coz I accidentally tripped and fell down the stairs days before I managed to go for my 5-in1 Full body massage at Banahaw Heals Spa.

Without further thinking, I pay for lifetime membership which cost me Php500 to avail of discounts and promos exclusive for members which I can also share to my family. Yep! My privileges as a member can be availed and extend to my family. A good deal, isn\’t it? So every  visit will just cost us Php100 instead of Php250. Its 15min. away from home so its very convenient to avail and take time to relax. Body massage promotes good blood circulation and helps to ease stress and tension.

Taking some time and spending your money for that 1 hour relaxation escape was really worth it. Below are some pix of Banahaw Heals Spa in Munt. Tunasan Branch.

Annual Pap Smear

Sometimes we tend to just ignore some common health issues especially on Women\’s annual health check-ups. In celebration of Women\’s Month may we remind ourselves to take time and be aware that no one can predict  who can be the victim of cervical cancer.
Papanicolaou tests, or Pap smears should be performed every year and its the most important thing that we can do to protect ourselves from developing cervical cancer.
I\’m married for three years and  I  had my very first  Pap smear test just yesterday. Yeah, i admit i\’m just too lazy to take time going to my OBGyne for the test, so I am  feeling guilty of how irresponsible I am for my own health but from now on, i promised to do it regularly which is every year, anyway it was just Php 385 and I can reimburse the amount from our Company\’s Health Care Benefit.
The procedure will take about  30 minutes (or less) of your time. So just like what I have done, im encouraging you to take time, and  have regular Pap Smear! Go, go, go… =)

Breast Cancer on Naturopathy

Writing again for my label: Womens\’ Health Issue after watching \’Salamat Dok\’ episode on Breast Cancer Awareness earlier today.

As repeatedly instructed by our Health Care Provider, we must perform Self- Breast examination before and after Menstrual Period to check lumps or any unusual changes for early detection.

These changes that we should watch for are the ff:

  • A lump or thickening in or near the breast or in the underarm area.
  • A change in the size or shape of the breast.
  • Nipple discharge or tenderness, or the nipple pulled back (inverted) into the breast.
  • Ridges or pitting of the breast, making the skin look like the skin of an orange.
  • A change in the look or feel of the skin of the breast, areola or nipple such as warmth, swelling, redness or scaliness.

Early breast cancer usually doesn\’t cause pain. In fact, when breast cancer first develops, there may be no symptoms at all so if we find out any suspicious occurences, we must immediately visit our Health Care Specialist to properly examine and evaluate our case.

And as advised, we must practice a healthy diet– change our way of eating and self-discipline must be observe in avoiding fatty foods to eliminate abnormalities on  body cells. Understanding our Nutrition intake will be of good help in preventing cancer cells to multiply. So we must be aware of having fresh foods, Vit. C, anti-oxidants, green substance, and even oxygenated environment for better cure and prevention against this one.

The show also recommends \’Naturopathy\’ which is the system of medicine based on the healing power of nature. It focuses on two areas: one is supporting the body\’s own healing abilities, and the other is empowering individuals to make lifestyle changes necessary for the best possible health, their emphasis is on prevention of disease and patient education. Another OB visit

Urinary tract infection (UTI)  is a common bacterial infection found in most women that can be easily treated with a short course of anti- biotics. Symptoms include frequent feeling and/or need to urinate, pain during urination, and cloudy urine. (source: Wikipedia).
Based from personal experience while having this bacterial infection, there was no discomfort at all- I just take the proper medication and repeat my urinalysis to monitor the bacterial count and pus cells should range from 0-5, otherwise I need to continue medication treatment as advised.
Last week, I visited my OBGyne- UTI was resolved but my TransV Ultrasound indicates \’polycystic ovaries\’ condition, that bothers me at first because having to hear the word \’cysts\’ easily links to serious cases of cancer and surgical operations. But then again, I was easily relieved when my Doctor said that I just need to take medication to stop the abnormal Uterine bleeding and should start to take pills (Diane 35) on the first day of my next menstrual period as effective hormonal regimes on this condition.

Polycystic Ovary Disease is defined as a condition in which there are many small cysts in the ovaries, which can affect a woman\’s ability to get pregnant…(Oh no!) This is the first thing I cleared with my OB and she comfortly says that if I decided to have my next pregnancy then we\’ll just support it with the right medical treatments/ medication if difficulty occurs.
Right now, im on my 2nd week having this abnormal bleeding and prescribed to take Duphaston twice a day for another week to help  regulate hormonal imbalances–specifically, progesterone deficiency. Nothing serious, that\’s what I am keeping  in mind, and ofcourse, prayer is my best shield against all life challenges…
